RIM GUARD
The Original Beet Juice Ballast by Rim Guard safely and cost-effectively maximizes pulling power, improves lifting performance, and reduces the risk of tipping – all while protecting the wheel from corrosion unlike any other ballast.
Safe for livestock
Beet Juice is non-toxic and animal food grade safe
Never Corrodes
Beet Juice is non-toxic, biodegradable, water-soluble, and will never corrode your rims
Heavier than Water
Weighing 25% more than plain water, Beet Juice is the heaviest non-toxic ballast available
Performs in Extreme Cold
Beet Juice is the most freeze-resistant ballast on the market, performing to -35°F
No Tubes Required
Because Beet Juice is non-corrosive, it can be used either with or without tubes
Rim Guard Benefits
- Dramatically improves traction. Most farm tractors, compacts, utility, skid steers, pay loaders, etc. have more pulling power and hydraulic lift capacity than their unballasted weight can effectively use.
- Rim Guard in tires puts the weight right where you need it – where the tire contacts the ground. It reduces tire wear + improves operating efficiency.
- Improves stability by lowering the center of gravity of all-terrain sky lifts, forklifts, pay loaders, and zero-turn mowers.
- Acts as a counterweight and increases traction + steering control.
- Enhances the push/pull capabilities of lawn and garden tractors, especially on turf, ice, and snow.
What Makes Beet Juice Better?
Rim Guard
Non-toxic. Non-corrosive. Heavy and weighted attraction point. No tubes or mixing are required. Natural product. Environment and livestock friendly.
Calcium Chloride
Toxic. Highly corrosive. Weight varies upon the person mixing it. Requires tubes. Not safe for the environment or livestock.
Methanol
Toxic, corrosive, and highly flammable. Can degrade tires. Weighs 35-40% less than Beet Juice Tire Ballast. Should be mixed with water.
Windshield Washer Fluid
Toxic to livestock. Not safe in groundwater. Corrosive. Weighs 25% less than Beet Juice Tire Ballast. Higher freeze point. Tubes are needed for safety.
Water
Non-toxic. Potential for corrosion and rust. Lighter. Freezes even in mild winter weather. Inconsistent quality and highly variable.
Exterior Weights
Changes equipment configurations and center of gravity. Takes up space on axle and frame. Most expensive per pound.
